OUR CALL Video Series

A video series where Kimball shares stories and songs of God’s love and our opportunities to make a better world.

Music gives life a rhythm and flow that God intended. It touches the heart and soul in a way nothing else can. Even if you never learn to play an instrument, just listening to music inspires you. It moves you to think, to dream, and to act.

The Dictionary defines grace in several ways, including “courteous goodwill”. But it’s God who gives this word true meaning.  We physically define God’s grace to our world through acts of kindness, great and small. God created and calls us to be that amazing grace.

The Kingdom of God is not about power and politics. It’s about equality and equity. It’s about giving hope to the hopeless and being God’s instrument here on earth. The Kingdom of God is built one brick at a time, one act of love at a time.

Jesus came preaching the Kingdom of God. A Vision based on love  — love of God and love of neighbor.  But he also gave us a choice.  We can catch the Vision and live it out in our lives or not. Vision is not seeing something, Vision is being something.

The Gospel is a two-edged sword, it’s personal and it’s social. It’s concerned with a person’s relationship to God and the transformation of society. Wouldn’t it be wonderful and exhilarating to get a Spiritual force like that moving in our country today identified by the acts of compassion? I deeply believe this is possible through faith in God. It could be the Compassion Movement.

God’s love for us is a gift of grace.  It’s freely given and only asks that we receive it and let it flow to others.  God’s love is meant to be shared. When we share it in our personal relationships, community relationships, and world relationships, the circle of grace is completed. God’s Kingdom is among us. It’s time we let go and let God show us how to fall in love with love.

Peace and Love
The kingdom that God wants for earth is a place of peace and love. As Christians, we pray this prayer every time we worship, yet it seems so far from reality. Wars, conflict, and hatred are eating away at God’s beautiful creation. God sent his Son, Jesus, to teach us how to be peacemakers and love one another. With his help, we will commit to building a community of peace and love.

Mama’s Arm
I have many wonderful memories of growing up in church.  Most of all, I remember when Mama said I was old enough to sit with her for the morning worship service.
Let’s use every opportunity to present our children with wonderful experiences that help develop their faith to be strong and enduring.

Would You Follow Him?
Following Jesus is more than simply giving lip service each Sunday at Church. It’s a commitment that’ll challenge you to run to reach the highest. Living out our faith isn’t always easy, but it is the most freeing experience in all of life. It frees you to be what God created you to be and gives you the strength to be unafraid to risk, or to fail and try again. Being a Christ follower includes giving Him your all and serving others unselfishly. Would you follow Him?

It’s the Spirit
One Sunday morning after worship, I noticed a young boy staring up at me in my long black robe with a red stole around my neck. He asked, “Mister are you God?” I answered, “No Son, I’m not God, but I can tell you where God is.”
The Spirit of God lives in us, giving us the power to be loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled.

Agape
Agape is the highest form of love. It takes us to action, serving, caring, sharing, giving, and forgiving.  Living the Christian life comes through being a person of Agape.

Seek Ye First
God did not send his Son to create a new religion, but to tear down religious barriers that keep us apart. Jesus said, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given unto you.” -Matt 6:33. We are called to seek the Kingdom of God that makes us one. The Kingdom where we are to live by faith and work for peace and justice. The Kingdom of God is unity and love for one another.

An Old Man’s Prayer
Those of us with a lot of years under our belt may have less stamina, but we have more wisdom and faith to share with today’s generation and the ones that follow.  We seniors must hear God’s Call loud and clear because our youth and young families need to hear and see loving examples of the teachings of Jesus.

A MODERN REFORMATION
We are the Church. And being the Church is the highest Calling in all of life.  To fulfill that Calling today, we need a modern reformation.  Our rootedness in Jesus is the source for Reformation – the source of faith, hope, and love – the blessed assurance that the Holy Spirit lives inside of us.

WHEN YOU’RE YOUNG
When I was a young pastor serving my first church in the late 60s, I wrote this song as a way to encourage the young people of that tumultuous time.
However, my message to the Boomer Generation holds true for today’s Generation Z.  The message is this:
You are not only the Church of the future, You are the Church today.

WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT CHILDREN IN OUR WORLD?
The disciples asked Jesus who would be the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Jesus put his arm around a child and said, “I promise you this, if you don’t become like a child and accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you will never get into the kingdom of heaven.”

EVANGELISM
Evangelism is being a messenger for God. God’s message is love. God’s love moves us to a personal relationship with our Lord and to others through acts of peace and justice.

Come Let Me Love You
Being a child of God is a special relationship. Feeling God as Father or Mother is feeling love in a very special way.  God provides a home in our lives where we can receive unconditional love.
